The Full Moon Festival in Toronto celebrates the East Asian heritage and offers free mooncakes

The upcoming Full Moon Festival is a significant commemoration of East Asian culture encompassing various traditions and cuisines.

Known as Tsukimi in Japanese, Chuseok in Korean, and Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinese culture, this event marks the 15th day of the 8th lunar month.

This year, the festival is scheduled to take place on October 1st from 2 PM to 6 PM and will be held in North York, Toronto.

Attendees can participate in various activities, including culinary showcases, family-friendly events, and learning about East Asian culinary heritage.

The event is free to attend, and those who register online early will receive a complimentary mooncake from Daigyo Cafe in North York.

The event will be held at the North York Centre on the ground level near the food court, 5150 Yonge Street.

The culinary showcase will be held in the Burgundy Room at the North York Memorial Hall.
